Mothercare SS18 Preview

Over the past few years, Mothercare seem to have had a bit of a brand revival. With the introduction of Little Bird by Jools Oliver and My K by Myleene Klass, they’re now catering towards a cool, more fashion conscious parent. So we were more than keen to pop down to their SS18 press day to see what they had on offer for the coming year.

Between us Mum’s, we have a varied take on mini style. Some of us love monotone outfits and others love pops of colour and clashing patterns. So of course, we were all quite happy with the latest offering on show.

My K by Myleene Klass seems to have stepped up their pattern game for the coming season, featuring all over Mini Rodini style animal prints with sloths, leopards and cats being strong contenders in both boys and girls wear. There’s also a healthy dose of polka dot for those who want to go for a print but not go too wild. The collection features pieces that are easy to mix and match; hoodies and joggers, dungarees and pinafores with removable tops included in the set. We’re really looking forward to getting our mini’s in these come Spring!

Little Bird by Jools Oliver seems to have really found it’s groove now. Taking inspiration from 1970’s kids wear, the busts of colour are great fun and the collection has a playful twist on the growing up (left & right labeled shoes got a good laugh from us, but gosh, that will come in so handy!) As always, there’s no fear of bright and clashing patterns for Spring/Summer, the brand embodies the fun and freedom needed to be a kid, with fun prints and strong but soft quality fabrics that can sustain an energetic run around the park.

This season Little Bird has also branched out into cool pushchairs, denim and a full colour print (for those feeling a little more adventurous), along with bedding and kids accessories.
